This is just one of the problems you may face in The Bay CD-ROM The Bay is an educational CD-ROM which uses Port Philip Bay as the location for a role playing game dealing with the management of water quality in a Bay. You are the Bay manager who must manage the bay over a ten year period. During that time you will tackle five major problems which are randomly selected from 18 scenarios - including a freak storm, dying penguins, algal blooms, pollution and killer starfish. The aim is to finish with the Bay as healthy as (or healthier than) when you start. During the game, the player becomes acquainted with concepts such as ecosystems, food webs, biological indicators, toxicants, introduced species, and sewerage and stormwater systems.
